Comissioned and designed in 2019 for a house renovation in Pope Valley CA, the Flock Wall mural depicts starlings rising up from a flourish of vegetation, against a softly reflective background, which invites light into the room. The sheet steel surface was first sanded and textured to establish the image areas, then after their installation the color and detail of the birds and landscape were developed with several applications of patina and metal stain.
