Bright Hearts is an ornate multi-stemmed artichoke with flaming flowers and flamboyantly curled leaves, set into a half-barrel which catches the streams of water trickling through the sculpture. Comissioned for a residence in Santa Cruz, California, Bright Hearts is a lively outdoor centerpiece, whose central effect emits a ‘poof’ of fire with the squeeze of a hand valve. 42 inches tall and 4 feet in diameter, it is made with reclaimed stainless steel, standard plumbing fittings, and outdoor-rated water and electrical systems.
